When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers — the moon and the stars you set in place— what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them?

So I decided to start reading a devotional book for my morning devotion. I don't normally read devotional books, but I needed something different. I started reading The Heart of Worship Files compiled by Matt Redman.Today the entry was from Louie Giglio and he was reflecting on Psalm 8. What stood out to me was a section about the pronouns that David used in the Psalm.Whenever David talks about what God has done he uses you or your. Louie talked about and I was thinking about how often in ministry whether it's church or personal ministry that we say we did this or we did that. I brought this person to Christ or I grew this ministry or we put on a great worship service. This is my ministry. Our use of pronouns don't really describe what goes on.

The reality is that God did all that we do in ministry. We have nothing to do with it. So the challenge to myself and if you would like to take the challenge too, in the next week, take notice of which pronouns you are using. Instead of using I, we, my or mine lets try using You, Your, His or He.
